Praised for her “powerful, multi-colored mezzo” (South Florida Classical Review), mezzo-soprano Christine Boddicker’s 2023-2024 season includes a house and role debuts as a Resident Artist at Lyric Opera of Kansas City (Lola - Cavalleria Rusticana; Sister Berthe - The Sound of Music; Stéphano - Roméo et Juliette; Wellgunde - Journey to Valhalla).  Christine will also participate in the world premiere of The Haberdasher Prince, a family opera commissioned by LOKC.


Christine made her professional debut in 2022 with Indianapolis Opera as a fall Resident Artist.  Christine has also been a Young Artist with the Janiec Opera Company of the Brevard Music Center, Opera Steamboat, and Chicago Summer Opera, and has performed with Music on Site inc.  Notable roles include Nerone (L'incoronazione di Poppea), Sesto (La clemenza di Tito), Angelina (La Cenerentola), Sesto (Giulio Cesare), and Mercédès (Carmen).  In the summer of 2020, Christine had the privilege to rejoin the Janiec Opera Company as Dater #44 in the virtual premiere of ZOOM Speed Dating Tonight!  Other recent virtual projects include operatic scenes with Miami Music Festival, and Sally (A Hand of Bridge) with the Moores Opera Center, where she also contributed with the graphic editing of the video (see Creative Studio).  Christine has had competition success in the Midwest and in Texas.  She has been selected as a finalist in the 2022 San Antonio Tuesday Musical Club Young Artist Competition, a semi-finalist in the 2022 and 2023 Houston Saengerbund Awards, and received the first-place award in the 2021 MIOpera Voice Competition, as well as second place in 2019.

Christine holds a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston, where she studied voice with mezzo-soprano Melanie Sonnenberg.  Christine completed a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance at Michigan State University, where she studied with mezzo-soprano Jane Bunnell.
